Classic novel for younger ladies; part of the Little Girl Series by Douglas. Recommended.

The final entry in Eleanor H. Porter's charming Miss Billy Trilogy about a young orphan who finds love and acceptance in the family of her late father's college friend, Miss Billy Married concludes the trilogy with an account of the heroine's first few years as a newlywed. Through the ups and downs - including crossed wires with her new husband, difficulties in the domestic arena, and heartrending struggles with illness - Billy maintains the chipper attitude that has sustained her throughout all of life's difficulties.
Eleanor Hodgman Porter was the creator and author of Pollyanna.

This is book number two in the Miss Billy Series by Eleanor Hodgman Porter.
A series of romance novels written for a female audience, but enjoyable by all.  By the author of Pollyanna.  Orphaned, 18-year-old Billy Neilson writes to her father's boyhood friend, William Henshaw, for whom she was named, asking whether she can make her home with him. Thinking her a boy, he and his two brothers agree to take her in to their bachelor quarters. To their consternation and delight, she turns their lives topsy turvy -- until a well-meaning busybody makes it clear just how much she's "upset" their previously placid existence. Ultimately, the story turns into a tame farce of mixed-up love affairs, but Miss Billy and her cohorts are charming.  In this second book of the series, Billy is engaged to Bertram Henshaw, the artist. But the course of true love is fraught: She fears that he really only loves her as a model, while he believes he has a rival. Sister Kate meddles, too.
